This is another line I have heard so much about but did not have much desire to check out. Urban Decay sounds nice for a product. Doesn't the name entice you? Why would a nice company give such a nasty name to a line of products that cater mostly to women? Which sane woman (not to mention a man too) would want to put something decaying on her/his face? Still, I love that name. It suggests an alternative makeup line.

The whole line of products is of easy access to me when I go to Hong Kong, which is where I am now, at this moment. The first time I checked out the products, I only took a look at the nail polishes. This is afterall the main thing that shot UD to fame. I went away with nothing since I either own similiar colours already or the colours completely don't interest me at all.

A week later, I went to the counter again. This time, I had the intention to check out the liquid eyeliners. This is due to the influence of a fellow panelist, Maria. I am mad about liquid eyeliners, especially colours that are different (ie not black or brown). Where this is concerned, UD did not disappoint me at all. There were a total of eight colours. How could I be disappointed? I went away with Gash (beautiful burgundy shade) and Smog (dark goldish green). Since the eyeliner comes in a wand like form, with its own brush, I couldn't have asked for better. I also got myself a lipstick in Roach (dark brownish purple).

Liquid Eyeliner
It goes on so well and lasts too. And it comes in so many colours. I have never seen any other makeup lines with as many colours of eyeliners as UB. If I had the money, I would buy all the colours. Then I could live in bliss for the rest of my life, without needing another eyeliner.

Lipstick
This comes in a box very similiar to Stila. In fact, the boxes of the eyeliners are also very eco-friendly. Very Stila-esque. I like that. The casing of the lipstick is part silver, part gold. I would have loved it more if it was fully silver, like that of the eyeliner. Still, the lipstick has a nice texture, goes on smoothly, lasts even after a few licks (by me), smells like wax (a minus) but tastes nothing.

I wished I could buy more products from Urban Decay. But I couldn't, due to financial constraints. Urban Decay has a catalog, with most of the products listed and beautiful colour swatches.

I associated Urban Decay with nail polishes and was fully surprised to find a whole line of cosmetics. And for a cosmetics line, I think it's worth checking it out. According to the catalog, which isn't exactly very new, there are 29 nail polish shades, 19 lipstick shades, 23 eyeshadow shades, 10 eyeliner pencil shades (these are beautifully packaged in test tubes), 7 mascara shades, 8 liquid eyeliner shades, 3 unique lip shine shades and 4 body shimmer shades (encased very mcuh like NARS multiple sticks). I didn't even know about all these until I read the catalog. And I believe there are more new shades (with the likes of Stray Cat and Woof). For example, one of my liquid eyeliner colour is not listed in the catalog. Amazing, isn't it? It also has Body Paint kits where tattoo-like pictures can be painted on the body with the paint colours and brush provided. I was very close to buying this kit but thought I was not that wild afterall.

Overall, I think this is a line of makeup worth checking out, if like me, you have some wild streaks in you. Or just check out the cool packages these products come in.
